Get Ready, Forty Ounce Red Wine Is Here

To follow up on the success of the Forty Ounce Rosé this summer, sommelier Patrick Cappiello debuted a Forty Ounce Red to his line just in time for fall. The newest release from Forty Ounce Wines is a “light-bodied, lively and dry red wine,” according to Cappiello and will set you back just $16.

Made with Gamay grapes from Northern France, the Forty Ounce Red is sustainably-grown and produced without any synthetic products or other chemical treatment, according to the brand.

“The wine also speaks to a growing trend with red wines,” Cappiello said in a press release. “Reds that don’t knock you out with tannins, and make for easy drinking all day or night long.”

While the rosé forties were ideal for bringing along to a picnic or a BBQ this summer, here’s a few ways to enjoy a red wine forty this fall.

  • Tailgating. You can only drink so many watery beers, so throw a red wine forty in your bag for the next game.
  • Camping. Drinking wine outdoors is great, but packing an opener and a bunch of glasses is not. Pass a forty around the fire on your next trip instead.
  • Friendsgiving. Show up a with a red wine forty and you’ll definitely get invited back next year.

Since only 4,800 cases were made, it might be a little tricky to track a bottle down near you. Start your search with the list of stores on their website that stock their wines. But remember, the Forty Ounce Rosé did eventually make its way to Drizly, so you might be able to order these online soon too.

    Fingers crossed.
