In honor of the return of Parks and Recreation tonight at 8:30 pm ET on NBC, we’re shirking salads and breaking out the steak knives a la Nick Offerman’s character, Ron Swanson. You might not be able to eat meat on meat with meat regularly and stay as healthy as Ron, but one night of carnivorous celebration is certainly in order. If you think only rabbits should eat rabbit food, hate anyone who disrespects the beautiful, manly art of barbecue, or prefer the most lack-luster burger to the most decadent veggie alternative, we have some recipes to help you kick off the return right.
Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp (Or, Ron’s First-Favorite Food Wrapped Around His Third-Favorite Food)
Prepare your marinade of choice. Wrap bacon around shrimp and place in marinade. Refrigerate for an hour, turning shrimp once. Grill over high heat for about 4 to 6 minutes, flipping shrimp once, until bacon is browned and shrimp are cooked through.
